Vikki Brock, MCC, is Chief Pot Stirrer of the one-of-a-kind Virtual Museum of Coaching here at The Coaching Commons. Based on interviews about the evolution of coaching with over 175 coaching 'influencers' she also contributes mightily to our Coaching Hall of Fame. Though some may consider 'The History of Coaching' a dry topic, Vikki believes 'the roots determine the fruits' and promises the museum won't be a stuffy place. Vikki is also the only executive and leadership coach we know who supports clients from a 45 foot sailboat named Cuidado, moored on the ship canal in Seattle, Washington.

From Newbie Coach to Thomas Leonard’s Right Hand Person

seattle150.jpgHere’s a connection that may illuminute the beginnings of coaching in Seattle: In Spring 1996, Linda Miller (of Ken Blanchard Companies) and I held our first coach training workshop in that city, in Washington State, USA. At that time we were both students at Coach University (now called Coach U) and felt competent to lead a workshop (I’m sure some of you are laughing at our audacity).  Elizabeth Crouch was in our first class and checking out coaching.  I remember how her enthusiasm and commitment to growth was noticable even then.

Thomas Leonard was living in Seattle at the time and next thing I hear is she is Thomas’s right hand person.  If that was not enough, she also trained with both CTI and Coach U, and helped Thomas put together The Attraction Program in September 1997 for some 400+ people.

Over 10 years later Elizabeth is a seasoned coach, in part because of her willingess to jump in with both feet.  Her current focus is coaching teens, which is indeed a labor of love and a huge task.
